Overview

Pseudonymous (“AH”) teenage Illinois resident whose real name and likeness were used by Solo (Ben Conway) to impersonate a fictional “Rose” in a years-long catfishing operation targeting Steven K. Bonnell II. Rose was 17 when she met Solo in November 2021; she was not aware of the impersonation until third parties began contacting her in 2025. She was doxxed by Destiny himself after the November 2024 leak and has never been contacted by law enforcement. She is a third-party witness, not a party, in Doe v. Bonnell (1-25-cv-20757).

Key Facts

  • Age at start of relationship: 17 (Nov 2021). Age at time of Solo’s Destiny catfish: 17-18.
  • Met Solo on Yubo: an app marketed to under-18s. Solo claimed to be 21.
  • Never met Solo in person. Communicated via Snapchat, Discord, Skype. Rose sometimes had her face camera on; Solo never did.
  • Never controlled the “Rose” Discord account that messaged Destiny. Never had login credentials. Solo used her real photos as the profile picture.
  • Never messaged or spoke with Destiny. Under sworn oath, October 23, 2025, confirmed on both direct and defense cross-examination that she did not send any of the ~300 pages of Discord messages attributed to “Rose” and does not remember ever speaking with Destiny by voice.
  • Threatened by Solo: When she tried to end the relationship in August 2022, Solo threatened to kill her family and to “kidnap her and use her as a sex slave.”
  • Did not know about the November 2024 leak until “Callum” emailed her starting August 26, 2025 — nine months after the drop.
  • Doxxed by Destiny after the leak. Destiny organized a Discord group to “find Rose” and posted her name and home address on Twitter. She received ~15 Instagram follow attempts in a week; deleted the account.
  • Deleted her accounts multiple times: Discord (twice), Instagram (twice), Twitter. Solo kept finding her via new accounts.
  • Subpoenaed for deposition October 2025. Produced 10 pages of documents. Never contacted by Discord administration or law enforcement.
  • Still lives with her parents in Illinois. Has never lived with anyone else (contradicting a message attributed to “Rose” in the Discord logs claiming she lived with an ex).

Newsletter Relevance

Rose is the hidden cost the legal system is not routing compensation toward. She is a minor whose identity was stolen, who was coerced for nine months, who was threatened when she tried to break free, who was then doxxed by the online audience of the person her identity was used to deceive — and she has no civil remedy, no criminal investigation, no platform accountability, and no standing in the case that turned on her name.

Her deposition is also the single most useful piece of evidence for the article’s structural argument: under oath, on cross-examination conducted by the defendant’s own counsel, she confirmed “Defendant Bonnell was catfished by your boyfriend; correct?” with a one-word “Yes.”

  • Has any law enforcement agency ever contacted her? Her deposition says no, as of October 2025.
  • Are the identity-theft and stalking predicates severe enough to have triggered a state or federal investigation independent of the civil suit?
  • Will she be called at trial? Will she face cross on any substantive issue beyond the catfish confirmation?
  • Does her deposition testimony that Solo showed her Bonnell’s videos change her legal status in any way — does it give her standing to bring her own claim against Solo or Bonnell?
